The little girl's uncle promises her his lucky lion's tooth if she can get her apple tree to produce fruit and make him a pie. She was quite a prolific writer, and often had well known illustrators working with her on her books. Most have lapsed into obscurity--I believe Caroline and Middle Sister were reprinted by Scholastic which may account for their making more of an impression. She also wrote a story called whose name escapes me right now, but has to do with a little boy who wants to be taller, he falls in a pond wearing his new buckskin suit, and then naps in the sun, when he awakes the suit has shrunk and he thinks he has become a giant. This story is probably better remembered through its appearance in the New Basic Reader More Friends and Neighbors Donna Pedaci Dragonfly Books "Lenona321" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >Hello!
