Just off the top of my head--
She might like some of Carol Ryrie Brink's books, including "Carrie
Woodlawn," "Two Are Better Than One" and "Baby Island."  And don't
forget Beverly Cleary's Ramona series, from start to finish.  And then
there's "The All-of-A-Kind Family" books, by Sydney Taylor, about a
family of girls growing up in a warm, Jewish family in New York back
in early 20th century.
