Everybody here seems to have much better memories than me---I doubt that I can remember titles of more than one or two of the first hundred science fiction books I've read, much less the first one. It was probably a Tom Swift or Danny Dunn book, but many others are possible. Heinlein and Asimov were ones I liked in my early teens, but that was much later. It's hard enough for me to remember titles out of the most RECENT hundred I've read. My estimate is that I've read about 5000 fantasy and science fiction novels over the past 40 years, so a little blurring of the details is inevitable. -- Kevin Karplus [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.soe.ucsc.edu/~karplus life member (LAB, Adventure Cycling, American Youth Hostels) Effective Cycling Instructor #218-ck (lapsed) Professor of Computer Engineering, University of California, Santa Cruz Undergraduate and Graduate Director, Bioinformatics Affiliations for identification only.
