I read a book recently that I wish I could remember the name of. It was written
fairly recently, I believe (now that could be 15 years old, the way I think).
It was about a suburban school which as it happened was all white, and they
stage a play with black characters. _Uncle Tom's Cabin_, I think. AND NO ONE
THINKS THIS IS AT ALL ODD. They do the whole darned thing in blackface and no
one says boo. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, but that was just it.
No, not a historical novel or anything like that.

Anyone else remember this book? I may have exaggerated it a little, and I know
I don't remember the details as well as I usually do. I keep a list of books
read, but can't find it in there and think it was probably part of a stack of
things that never got entered.
