Friends:

Never spray ANYTHING on your trees unless you are CERTAIN that it will not prove to be 
deleterious to its health.

I have had excellent results with Ortho Orthenex--a combined insecticide and 
fungicide.  Even with this said, try the spray on an inconspicuous area of the tree.  
If all is well within a few days, spray as required and based on the manufacturer's 
instructions.
