Your oedema could explain it. It's unusual to get extensive cellulitis
and deep scarring without an underlying problem (such as myxedema/venous
stasis), which is why I brought up those issues.

I dunno whether I'd be embarking on a big tattoo project on chronically
edematous legs, but that's for you to decide.
