Ummm, well, actually I thought it would
provide an interesting counterpoint and stark contrast to the "Finding
Nemo" neck tattoo I recently acquired... OK, I was JUST KIDDING about
the barbed wire! And NEMO too! I forget how humor gets lost through
email. I'd like to add to a couple comments I saw in this thread about piercings and the workplace. I'm a college professor and am VERY fortunate that I work in the ivory tower and I can pretty much do what I wish without answering to authority. At this point, I'm pretty heavily tattooed and any new body art piece doesn't cause much discussion. But, the little tiny nose piercing was met by a lot of comments such as, "Oh no. Now you're going to start doing THAT?" "What the hell is THAT?" Etc., etc. I've always felt that the appearance I project in this "cloistered" environment never affected my interactions with students and colleagues, but now I'm beginning to wonder what is said behind closed doors... So, I was wondering about other more mainstreamed vocations, and whether people think that "under the surface" negative attitudes from other colleagues have an affect on what you do... -john i'll teach you to turn away. wrote: Keith Alexander® <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: KA> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: -- John W.
