US military uniforms that have the flag displayed on the right shoulder have
the blue star field on the right (or towards the front,) giving viewers the
impression that the flag is "backwards."  Actually, the flag is supposed to
look like it is flying as it being advanced.  The US flag when viewed from
the right while moving forward will have the blue field on the "right" side
of the flag, since the blue field would be right next to the flag pole, with
the stripes trailing behind it.  If the flag were reversed, it gives the
impression that the flag is in retreat.  This happens on US international
commercial aircraft as well.  All international aircraft are required by the
FAA to display a US flag on both sides of the vertical stabilizer, and the
blue field always faces the front of the aircraft.

I can't even imagine the stress on the frame of the craft once it reaches
the sonic boom.  Remeber, the "boom" is caused when the front of an aircraft
punches through the small shockwave of compressed air at the front of the
aircraft, (i.e., the aircraft is moving too fast for air to get out of the
way).  Can you imagine that problem compounded by something with the density
of water?  If you can build something that strong, no conventional weapon
would be able to touch it.
