> Or how about when people preface an question with "I have a question..." I know! I know! ARRGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! As a hobby for many years I seasonally taught HS marching band drumlines, and SO often from the kids I'd hear "Mr. Nevermann, can I ask a question?" Grrrrrrrr. THAT, in turn, makes me wonder that if peoples spelling and grammar conventions are so wildly relaxed and even ignored in newsgroups, since we are all creatures of habit, then how much or how often such 'grammatical casualness' spills over into their business/work worlds, where inaccurate spelling and sloppy syntax sheds a distinctly negative light on the company/individual sending them... provided, of course, recipients of these messages even *recognize* the errors! [gee... all that ranting in one sentence, too!]
