A fact that is completely misunderstood.  Playing Doom will not teach you
how to kill.  It will not teach you marksmanship or hand-to-hand combat.
Those are skills that can only be learned through practice, not though
perfecting mouse and keyboard controls.  What FPS games -can- teach,
however, is small-unit tactics and teamwork, which -must- be reinforced by
live training.

Even on top of that, the military teaches people how to kill (at least the
army and marines do), yet -all- the servicemen I know (which accounts for
about 40% of the people I associate with on my off-time, and 90% of the
people I know) can handle themselves without killing their neighbors.  Go
figure.
