Oops, thanks for drawing my attention to it, Ping. Now certain reactions make 
much more sense to me. I normally strip other groups from the list, but have 
forgotten to do so this time. I'll limit my reactions to RAM after this one. 
I wish people wouldn't crosspost at all. Keep manga to RAM and anime to RAAM.

All moved on. You're the only one left. I had to lurk at that time :(.

I completely agree. Most of the times, it's just people throwing mud at each 
other and valid arguments are just wasted because all what's done with it is 
that the other party tries to find a rebuttal instead of thinking about the 
validity of the argument. The first departs from a negative attitude while 
the second departs from a positive attitude. Real life is just the same. It 
really gets frustrating sometimes.

Well, normally in French, they (especially the Academy) tend to go into the 
extreme and absurd in order to find homegrown words for foreign concepts or 
things (especially to eradicate English words), but manga is not one of them. 
So manga is manga in French. Actually, I don't know of any language where 
they decided to use another word than the original for manga.
Latin being a dead language, I don't think (know) there's a word for comics, 
let alone for manga.
