.hack:Sign/Chobits musical question..

I hope it is alright that I post this here,
I tried in the anime.music group, but there
seems to be little to none traffick over there.

Hi, I recently watched an episode of Chobits (#13, I think), where
Hideki borrows a DVD-player from his boss. Later on, Hideki, Chii,
Shinbo & Sumomo all play an on-line RPG. In one scene, they
are facing the end boss, a huge dragonbeasthing, and some music
is played in the background.
Now, I thought the music was distinctly familar to the music
that plays almost continously in the background of the first
episode of .hack/Sign (maybe in other episodes as well, haven't
seen them yet).
Is it the same music, or at least similar?
If so, is it supposed to be a parody of the .hack/Sign series,
or has it something to with soundtrack from a real RPG,
that both series was inspired by?
