From what I've seen, the anime has a self-contained >story, with no reliance on the viewer having played the game first. And in >each >exception you pointed out, where the hints suggest that Mitsuki will be the >one >to end up with him, it's something that was "in the game" and not "in the >anime". But they do have another six episodes to lay a new trail of >breadcrumbs >to pick up on, so who knows? > It's there, you just have to look harder and may not pick up certain contexts if you haven't played the game. The anime follows game closely. After all, this is anime aired pass midnight and primarily aimed at fans of the original game. I'm not saying that Mitsuki has always been his dream girl. Haruka and Mitsuki both have equal chances in the game. Rather, what I'm saying is he's been wavering since high school. And to make it worse, Takayuki is a someone who is EASILY taken over by his mood. In the anime's context, he's someone who neglected his current date in order to talk with his friend.. twice. Although, frankly speaking, it's hard to root for anime Haruka with her trivialized exposure and character development, although I suspect they will remedy this situation in the last two episodes. That being said, episode 10 should be a major turning point of the series.
