to the brink of death, and all his(her) friends and teammates (equally
mulched, BTW) say lines to the effect of "I will lend you the last of my
power" or "We believe in you!"

...for every time the villain just stands there, looking stunned, mouth wide
open, as the Hero(ine) pulls his(her) Previously Unrevealed Power or Made-Up
On The Spot Final Attack and beats him with it.

...for every time a character "transforms to his true form!" even more
badass than his last true form.
