Spirited Away US DVD

I'm a bit confused on the various aspect ratios of Miyazaki's last
film as various regios have diferent specifications for the film. The
US release has an aspect ratio of 2:1  which is a bit odd while some
European releases list the more apropriate 1:85:1 ratio. Which one is
is?

There are also some claims that some scenes were cut - unlikely since
the contract forbids this but I just want to have this claim put to
rest.
