   I recall reading about the proposed Mai movie for a couple of years 
starting soon after Viz/Eclipse concluded the original comic 
translation.  At first, I thought that it was going to be a faithful 
adaptation of the story done by an Asian studio, but then I read 
somewhere that some "neat" BGM effects were going to be added (something 
to the effect of not using any modern instruments).  This, of course, 
makes me glad that the movie is indefinitely on a back burner... or even 
locked up in the closet.
