Is a Loser someone who is astonishingly unlucky thru no fault of their
own, or only someone who creates their own problems due to lack of
foresight, brains, or ambition?

Because a lot of 'loser' characters mentioned around here fall into
the former, and I don't particular see why they should be mocked for
it...
