Not mention by sheer personality, she is given some leeway of 'automatic' respect for being classy. I think her focus on Kaoru is also just because she doesn't have to worry herself with other concerns (she has plenty of friends, is incedently rcih, etc.) so she tends to focus on the few things she can't control. She's particularly wanting for other things, which is why 'Simple Things' are a classic character trait of people who seem to virtually have everything.
