Hence...? Do you not see what it means when one of the two girls gets
all the development?

In fact, we do.

In the game, the sex was aborted due to Haruka's inability to achieve
a certain level of, shall we say, physical comfort with the activity.
This, understandably, got changed around in the anime so that they
were interrupted by her parents comming home instead.

So they have yet to go beyond foreplay, while he and Mitsuki have been
enjoying a very active sex life for more than 2 years -- and yes, they
are quite active, details in the game :)

It's hard to say what he feels deep down. On the surface, though, he's
pounded home again and again that he's with Mitsuki. He was reluctant
to follow along with Haruka in the hospital, but he has to. Something
that got little mention in the anime is how recovering coma patients
are treated in Japan -- the game goes into details, such as the
patient's environment is carefulyl controlled to not induce a wider
shock, and this includes pretending that no time has passed since the
accident. Everyone who visits her has the law layed down in detail by
the doctor (hence the sign on her door). So if Narumi wants to visit,
it's imperative that he pretends they are still dating.

This causes some emotional conflict, of course, and creates a strain
in the established relationship with Mitsuki.

He's been extremely overt in his affection towards Mitsuki. yes he
failed utterly to deal with Mitsuki's emergancy in ep.7, but that's a
damned plot device to create another crisis for THEIR relationship.
Everything this plot does is to cause conflict with THEIR
relationship. Isn't it dead obvious by now?

He may remember that he loved Haruka once. But that life is dead. The
new Narumi is attached solidly to Mitsuki. He's said so. Over and over
again.

Detach yourself for a second, and view it from a technical standpoint.
Mitsuki has constantly and without fail taken center stage. It's
Mitsuki's feelings, Mitsuki's crises and Mitsuki's desperate love that
is being rammed down the viewers throats every episode. What can that
tell you besides that Mitsuki is the main female character of the
show?
