Not that I don't agree with you about (mis)management salaries,
but you're using the wrong logic.
First, Finding Nemo is Pixar - not a Disney studio.
Next, revenue from one division isn't used to sustain
for another division; a money-losing division is still a leak
needing to be fixed and thus will always face the scrutiny,
so that it stops losing money,
including discarding "excess baggage."
(What constitutes excess baggage, however,
is a matter of contention.)

Yes, it's even more ironic that Disney is a huge proponent
of extending the copyright extension ad infinitum.
