But certainly not as it was configured on STS-107. <snip> > Poking around the net I've seen STS-118 attributed to Atlantis, > Discovery, and Endeavour. So I don't know that I trust any of them. Most of the 'Net entries listing STS-118 as being on Atlantis, Discovery or Endeavour were written after the Columbia disaster and generally referenced the rescheduled STS-118. For example, this page (watch for text wrap): http://www.nasa-statistics.com/contents.php3? ContentFile=spaceshuttle/mission/sts-118.html lists STS-118 for Endeavour, but gives the planned launch date as July 2005. > I tried searching NASA's website, but I couldn't find anything > worthwhile. True -- the only missions listed on the NASA site that have somewhat firm launch dates are STS-114, STS-121, STS-115, and STS-116, in chronological order. And none of those missions are scheduled to launch before next November. :( > Ah - I found this: http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewnews.html?id=647 > > Looks like NASA did decide to update Columbia after all. Well, I > hadn't heard that, obviously. So the goof wasn't a goof. :-) That's what I thought, when I saw the STS-118 mission profile and manifest. I was thinking that the "Geneshaft" writers had seen the then- current Shuttle mission timeline, and saw the STS-118 entry. But why choose Columbia, I wonder, when the other three orbiters were more capable of reaching the ISS? Name recognition, perhaps? -- Glenn Shaw Indianapolis, IN USA Sergeant-at-Arms, Indiana Animation Club (www.indyanime.org) To reply by e-mail, remove "nospam" and transpose CAST and NET
