   Tightly knotted? No. Into the length AFTER the knot. The part that 
extends to the tree or whatever that you have him hanging from. If 
you're reasonably strong,  you effectively pull yourself up slightly 
and then get part of the rope twined around your other foot. Then 
break rope.
