If he can't bend over far enough to reach the rope - and with
his bulky type armor, I doubt he can - and unless he's in
one of those incarnations where he can generate a force field or 
energy bursts or whatever - the only way he could break the
rope is if he can hit it with his other foot.  Otherwise he's in 
the same situation as when he's sunk in concrete:  Unlimted 
strength, but no way to use it.
