Not before his (intelligent) opponent killed him. Remember, Freeza
could have killed Goku hundreds of times over before he went Super.

Proof, please? The only time I recall him up against Magic was during
the Buu saga; Babidee had no problem magically teleporting Goku around
and would have been able to kill the Z-Warriors at a distance if he'd
known where they were. And Vegitto wasn't able to resist Buu's
transformation spell (granted, he's not quite Goku, but there's no
evidence Goku would have been able to resist it any better). By all
accounts, Goku is as vunerable to magic as Superman.

I don't think Goku could beat Galactus, even if/though he is a million
times more powerful than the Big G: having greater quantities of power
doesn't count as much as being able to USE it in much greater ways...
