Regarding "What are we like?" survey, http://www.geocities.com/ruigarashi/Surveys/fans/ I just thought I'd drop a mini-report after a little more than a week of running. I try not to discuss specific interim results, but I can say that, so far, I have 50 responders. At this point last year, I already had 100 returns. I think I screwed up somewhere. Perhaps the questionnaire is finally just plain too long. And it's clear to me that I fumbled the 2nd "notice" which was simply the text-only version of the questionaire with a small note. I should have expanded more on the situation. I blame lack of sleep (this week has been Hell). Anyways, thanks to those that have already participated, and apologies to those that couldn't due to some odd software idiosyncracy in the forms script. There have been some good suggestions by some of the participants. One person suggested "anime based game or game based anime" questions (e.g. interest in, which started interest in the other). Another pointed out that when I asked about "web forums" I didnt' specify "anime-related web forums". Someone pointed out non-video games like "Big Eyes Small Mouth" can be a way of introducing a person to anime. Someone suggested some domestication questions like the issue of honorifics and Japanese terms in subs or dubs. I'll try to remember these for next year. Keep those suggestions coming. ru -- Maintainer of the "Welcome to REC.ARTS.ANIME.MUSIC" FAQ ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/usenet-by-hierarchy/rec/arts/anime/music http://www.geocities.com/ruigarashi/FAQS/raa_music/ and the Annual rec.arts.anime.* "What are we like?" survey http://www.geocities.com/ruigarashi/Surveys/fans/
