Possibly the high score display comes back after the game resets, but if
the game is so prone to breakdown, who can guess?

Seems a bit of an extreme way to get legless! Actually, though I don't
remember anything like that on Corrie, a couple of other ITV soaps had
similar things. One was the original Crossroads (ATV/Central), the other
was Emmerdale (Yorkshire), though in each case it was paralysis rather
than actual amputation (I guess the actors weren't *that* willing to
sacrifice all for the production!!!)

It's been a few years since I watched any of these...
