Meanwhile, some Nick fans are making the claim that Jimmy Neutron is basically a clone of Dexter, only in CG (the fact that its upcoming Xmas special uses the same general idea as Dexter's Xmas short doesn't help either), and I've seen some people claim that the new Nicktoon My Life As A Teenage Robot is a rip-off of Robot Jones and/or PPG (ironically, Rob Renzetti, creator of this show, wrote for Robot Jones). > > why not check > > out this "clichebusters" thread (which also mentions TW quite a few > > times as well)?: http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=94296 > > I suppose the amount of episodes of various cartoons each company is > expected to produce each year means that sooner or later a cliche is bound > to occur... But by cliche-busting, I mean "when a cliche is given a twist and turns out differently than expected". It's been used so much on Fox's primetime toons that it (gasp!) ceases to amaze me anymore. Read the thread to see what I mean. Meanwhile, some more leftover thoughts: * "Listen Up": (Carv) "Listening is my middle name" (Lor) "I thought it was Renee": referring to the renowned French mathematician (etc.) Renee Descartes. No Tishing about this tho... speaking of which, outside of "To Tish", it's sort of odd that they don't use this fake slang... * "Diarama": Carv and Lor's HPS reaction is about the same as Tino's minimalist reaction to Lor (or Tish?) breaking his computer in "Cry" (and I haven't seen your review of it yet, Paul). Speaking of which... * "Cry": Here's something I noticed. At the end of the new and improved (and more prone to breakdown ;-D ) two-person video game, both the high score and current score indicators drop down. With the "original" version in "To Tish", only the current score indicator goes down (which would make more sense). Just thought I'd let you know... * Outside of TW: Have you heard about the Blackpool bride whose legs were amputated after a trike crash? Sounds like something Corrie (the ITV1 soap Coronation Street, in case you don't know) could use (it even takes place in the same area)... I seriously doubt that they've already done this.
