thanks to all for your replies the light is from the standard jewel aquarium set up. the model is rekord 130L ... while probably not the best set up around i assume its adequate and that the standard light provided would not be causing the algae? if so, what type of light do you recommend? for now ill just hope its the new tank syndrome (although ive had it before and it far from went away by itself). i will add the products recommended by micheva, and im thinking of getting some Otocinclus as also recommended here. it would probably be wise to not include the loaches in this tank, i could keep them in a smaller one? this in order to minimize the ammonium output? while the algae are indeed easy to clean off the sides (its never really clean though), its a pain the butt to get them off the stones (if possible at all) and they do kill the plants quickly by stopping photosynthesis. im still abit puzzled as to why there is no clean cut explanation for this pest if i follow all the cycling rules etc ...
