Re: Brown algae / diatom problem in new tank



This is a very common problem with fishtanks.
Most times its a combination of a quicksilver lamp near the fish tank
and the too high level of nitrate in the water.

first you should try to buy a sollution that stabilises the biological
balance in the water.
I live in holland were we have the brand SeraŽ. It has a sollution
thats called Nitrivec. If you put this in the water the water wil
stabilise. Also the nitrate levels will drop.

2nd you should try to find a sollution that (here its called Algopur)
will destroy the algae also the brown ones.
You have several sollutions for it.
