Once your tank completes the bio-cycle ammonia and nitrites will drop off to zero. However, nitrates will climb. Nitrates will only decrease from water changes, being consumed by plants or "live sand", or if you use some kind of nitrate removal product in your filter. Personally, I change the water. E.Otter "Slim Shaggy" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] in a new tank, it's been up for probably a month, when should I expect the nitrites/nitrates to go down? Is there any way I can help it out or speed it up?
