That might be it. Add the dechlorinator to the tank *before* adding any 
extra water. Heck, you tank is so small, you could easily dechlor the 
water you want to add before adding it. Just mix it in, the result is 
pretty much instantaneous. Do you have chlorine or chloramines in your 
water supply? Does this Tetra product neutralize both?
