I like to window shop there, but I've never bought stock from them. In the southwest suburbs, there is a hole-in-the-wall PetLand on 59 just south of Naperville with a surprisingly good stock of both fresh and saltwater. The store looks like an explosion in a loading dock (all PetLands do), but their fish department is far nicer than any other in the area. And they don't carry just the 'standard' species. They've had rainbow gudgeons, unusual plecos, a nice selection of cichlids and rainbows, and apparently they're associated with a betta breeder, since they have a nice assortment of fancy bettas. -- www.ericschreiber.com
