I have one black moor like that because my filter system and pump are top
grade it can not be gasping
for fresh air so I would say like mine its just a greedy little beggar
smiles

No sooner I walk past or go near the tank the moor comes over doing that
same suspicious behavior you
described I just simply look and say no not feed time yet go back and swim
