Some of you may recall a few weeks ago me telling you that I added some red-clawed crabs to my Malawi tank, just for grins. Well, I added two about 4 weeks ago. The next day, one was missing. Gone. No trace. I looked all over (even in my living room) and couldn't find him. Hmmm.. weird. Later that week I added 2 more. Well, those three have been doing great. Couple of them have molted, and they have found their way up the intake spouts of the filters when they need to get dried off. Now, remember the missing guy? I went to change the filter cartridges in the 330 two days ago. Guess what was *inside* the filter housing when I lifted the cover, alive and kicking. Yep, missing crab. So for four weeks almost, he'd been living inside there. He must have gotten in and not figured out a way out. I got him out and now have four healthy (I think) crabs in my tank. For those that are interested, the crabs have taken up day residence in the holey rock and come out at night (I drop pellets in before retiring). The fish (mostly peacocks and an azureus) leave them alone.
