earlier in the day, but just wasn't able to find anything specific about the 
company.

There was also an E.H. Stafford Manufacturing based in Chicago, but their 
primary business seemed to be the making of ice boxes.

I'll follow your advice and do a bit of searching under Grand Rapids furniture 
to see where that leads me.  Thank you again for the tip.

As for the Salvation Army donations:  We always do.  In fact, we also 
contribute rather heavily to their Christmas Angel program here.  
Unfortunately, it's only during this time of the year when those folks in need 
seem to be remembered.  Yet, there are 11 other months to be accounted for...
