Non-working Syroco Clock

I recently purchased a Syroco Sunburst clock on ebay. Unfortunately,
the clock is not in working in order. I am considering taking the
clock to a shop for repair but am wondering if the repair costs will
end up being more than I paid for the clock itself. I am wondering if
anyone here has knowledge of these clocks and can give advice on 1)
anything I might try to fix it myself or 2) whether or not the clock
is worth (in terms of value) getting fixed. If these clocks are a dime
a dozen (as they appear to be on ebay), I'm willing to cut my losses
and use it as a nice decorative only piece.
