Any suggestions would be helpful. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There are a couple of Shaker specialty auctions. I would recommend Willis Henry of Marshfield, Mass. He runs an annual auction [the last one was in Old Chatham, NY at the Shaker Museum]. I was at his Shaker auction in 1990, having consigned a shaker foot stool and hooked rug [did quite well, thanks]. This was the auction the Oprah appeared at when she decided to start collecting Shaker furniture. Records were shattered and she bought a number of pieces in the 5 and 6 digit range. I think her biggest single buy was around $200k that day. It's nice to have a pocketbook to match your obsessions. Anyway, I think the market for Shaker has calmed down since then, but it's still pretty good. Consider Henry or maybe even Skinner -- but definitely go specialty. FR Shaking Quaker Antiques PS -- Oprah didn't even bid on my two items. Obviously she has questionable taste!
