Contacting a collectors club

I recently contacted a collectors club, wrote them an email and
provided photographs about a (relevant of course) item I found.

I mentioned I had bought their books, but there was no info about that
item in their book.

I asked them if they could help in further identification of the item.

I've not heard back from them.

How long would you guys wait? I don't want to bombard them with
emails, they're probably busy as well, but how long do you think would
be an appropriate time before sending them some sort of follow up to
ask if they received the first email?

I realise most clubs are run by people with other things to do in
their daily lives, but both their website and their books encourage
people to get in touch with them with question.

Any experience with collector clubs out there?
