They were definitely used in '47 Buicks. I had to reverse the polarity
on one to enable it to be used in a '37 Plymouth, which has positive
ground. Easy to reverse- just switch the two H.V. leads coming from the
power xfmr (the leads which would ordinarily go to the plates of a tube
