Re: MArk Oppat's Repro Wooden Knobs...

hey, thanks Syl and Larry!

Just some notes on my repro knobs... I started them in 1987, and AES was
then my major customer. Over the years I have run about 8 batches of these
in 600 to 2000pc runs. The finish was slightly different in each run. Many
times I had to return whole batches. The finishers just didnt seem to
understand how to do it right!
Anyways, this last batch is the best ever. Smooth, even, darker walnut.
Just beautiful.
Now, if I had a web site I'd show you all but that is yet to come.
The price on these new ones is only $5.50 ea, or 10 for $47., direct from
me.
There are two shapes, PK903 and PK971 as you see in your AES , All Things
Radio, Radio Daze or other catalogs.
PK903 is a copy of a 1929-1931 era RCA/GE knob.
PK971 is a copy of a 1933 era AK knob.
Both are nice generics for radio use. They have metal inserts with real
slot head 8/32 screws. My minimum order is $20 total for anything you need.
Just email your want lists (capacitors, tubes, whatever) and I look it over
and price it... then you pay me off the invoice by check, MO, or by paypal.

Thanks again guys for the nice note!

BTW, Syl is one hellova good source for phono cartridge rebuilding . He
(unlike me!) has a website at www.oldradioz.com . Worth a look.
