Re: Need schematic for Webster 81-1 wire recorder

Hi All,

I have one of these also. Mine works as is, but at some point I will re-cap. It
needs some mechanical attention as well.

A.G. Tannenbaum shows this model on his Web site, but I'm not sure if it is only a
mechanical service manual or also contains
the schematic. A bit pricy at $17. I'm sure he would tell you if you phoned him. On
his listing, he refers to model 178-1 which
is listed in Sam's as folder 113-1. I have also found that Riders 17-10 wirerec has
info on the model 79. This looks like the
same transport as the 81-1 with no electronics. However, they do show a suggested
circuit, which uses the same tube complement
(6SJ7, 6X5, 6SN7, and 6V6). It does not show the eye tube or the field coil speaker,
but I suspect it may be very close to
what we have. I could send a copy to you if you like.
