This WWI U.S. M1917 Fighting Trench Bayonet is in excellent condition. This
bayonet is the 1917 pattern having triangular blade retaining about 80% of
original bluing. The bayonet is marked (U.S., L.F.&C., 1917) on the
crossguard. The bayonet has a knuckle guard with 7 pyramid studs and a
contoured wood handle. The bayonet does not have a scabbard. The overall
condition is excellent with no rust or pitting. The wood is in excellent
condition with no cracks, chips, or splitting. These are getting very hard
to find and this would add nicely to any WWI collection. The minimum is set
very reasonable so that someone can purchase a scabbard and still be below
the market value of a complete set.
