Many of these were exported from Ireland by a number of bottlers, and they were also made here in the USA in the late 1800s. The unembossed versions don't have much value. The bottom is round so that they cannot stand up which would keep the cork moist. If the cork dried out, the carbonation would escape. A bottle-holder resembling a skeletonized coffee cup was available, but most coffee mugs would work to hold the opened bottle upright. ------------Harry Pristis
