Airmile Polints

I have sufficient airline points with Aeroplan to fly 1st  class to Europe.
Despite several attempts at different dates and in different flights, first
class seats were available line. That can only mean (1) that such travel has
been sold out in all flight for next March and April already,or (2) they can
only be booked through a "live person" or (3) the "first Class option" is
advertised, but never supplied.

Does anyone here with experience know the correct reason?
