I know what you are saying, Rob. But the fact of the matter is that cops generally want to go home after the end of the shift. That means shoot first and ask questions later. Therefore, if you in ANY way threaten a cops life, he is going to feel justified in killing you. Furthermore, if you do not follow a cops orders that makes you a criminal for resisting arrest etc. So he then has the right to arrest you for that too. While police do have limitations in making arrests, resisting arrest is NEVER a good idea even if you are totally innocent. The system says these things are to be settled in court, not with a fight with cops in the street. Even worse, if your resisting arrest can in any way be interpreted as a deadly threat to police, you are dead. No matter if it was a mistake. Usually the maximum punishment for murder by police is being fired and having to find a job as cop in some small burg. The maximum punishment for threatening a cop for you is instant death. The ONLY time resisting arrest with deadly force is EVER justified is when the "police" have been sent to assassinate you. In that case (yes, it does happen!) take your best shot, don't miss, and have your escape plan ready for the full might and force of those in power will then seek to track you down.
