I drove to my old hometown near Buffalo for Thanksgiving and managed to survive all the lunatics on the road (although I strained a muscle in my middle finger). I visited the music store where I used to hang out with the idea of trying out a Peavey Bandit II since I'd heard such positive things about it here, especially from Bob R (and JAZ too, I think). They had just sold their last two Bandits the day before, but a Peavey Studio Pro II 112 had arrived literally minutes before and was still in the box. I had my Heritage archtop with me and tried it out. I've known the store owner for years and he quoted me a price that was below even the MF price of $319. Thirty minutes later it was in my car. I really liked the sound, and 65 watts (vs. 80/100 for the Bandit) is plenty for my needs. I later played through a Bandit that my friend bought for jazz a few months ago and, while I didn't have 'em side-by-side, I couldn't really tell much difference. Maybe someday I might wish I had more power but so far the Pro is great. Nice warm sound and plenty of clean headroom in an inexpensive amp that weighs only 34 lbs. Thanks Bob! Norm
