Tired of the drama that can drain all the fun of making music and playing out? Have you hung up your axe (or keys, or sticks, or mic) and have been trying to have the same kind of fun playing by yourself? It's not the same is it? But who can deal with the drama, the differing expectations that add to the work of learning songs, hauling equipment to gigs, late nights, etc.? The thing is, it's fun to play with others (and to play out), but then there is all the other stuff. Let's form a "no drama" band (tho we can't use the name, since there's a band out in Tracy working under that name). Here's some facts about me: I'm interested in playing music that has a groove and makes people get up and dance. I've been playing guitar since I was a young girl of 11 (many moons ago) and am a solid rhythm guitarist and occasional vocalist. I'm a fan of all kinds of music and prefer not to concentrate on just one genre. I'm a Baby Boom baby so I cut my teeth on the English Invasion, Motown, Stax/Volt, Byrds, Dead, CSN, Eagles, Zep, and more. Moving on . . . Pretenders, Springsteen, Talking Heads, Sheryl Crow, Tom Petty, Foo Fighters, 3 Doors Down . . . and more. I am a dedicated player committed to finding another band to play with. I've played and jammed with enough people to know that to ** REALLY ** get into the groove whatever it might be), the musicians have know each other, which generally comes from practice/rehearsal. I love music, love to play, especially with others, and I show up prepared for every rehearsal, every gig. I don't have any bad habits that would make me a screw-up (drugging and drinking to excess), have my own transpo, and pro gear. I'm not looking for musical glory, so looking to rehearse once a week and play out once, maybe twice, a month. My ultimate goal would be to move from late night bar performances to private parties, occasional corporate parties, and performing at local street fairs. So . . . does this seem like something of interest to you? Yeah, it will be work to get it started but if in the long run the band that forms clicks in all the right ways, that makes it all worthwhile. Or pass this along to someone who might be interested. Let's have fun, make a little $$, and keep the rust from forming !
