Greetings- I saw that T-Bone Burnett is producing the soundtrack to the upcoming Cold Mountain flick and it has lots of singers and players on it, all of which I like but I was hoping it would be sure enough period fiddle banjo stuff like the book. I know from talking with Tom Sauber that the movie makers are trying to make the pickers in the movie look right. Tom taught old-time banjo to the actor with the banjo idjet part. It won't be him that we hear but he'll look good doing it I'll bet. I hear the actor playing the fiddler IS a fiddler. Mebbe they'll let him do his own playing?? Anyone have any input on music pertaining to the on-screen players? Personally, I hope they use Tim O'Brien and Dirk Powell for what we'll be hearing.
