Announcing American Banjo Camp, '04

Folks

Just a note announcing the next American Banjo Camp, which will be held Sept.
10-12, 2004 at Fort Flagler State Park, on beautiful Puget Sound near Port
Hadlock, Washington. American Banjo Camp presents an intense weekend of old
time and bluegrass music focusing on the five-string banjo and featuring
world-class instructors. There will be hands-on classes, panels,
demonstrations, and concerts, not to mention plenty of time for jamming!

Instructors: Our old time banjo instructors include Mac Benford, Brad Leftwich,
Ken Perlman and (tentatively) Mike Seeger. Our bluegrass banjo instructors
include Tony Ellis, Bill Evans and Bill Keith.

Accompanists: We will also have on hand a number of expert "accompanists" --
top players of instruments other than banjo whose job is to add spice to
workshops, jam sessions, and faculty concerts. So far, our accompanists include
fiddlers Greg Canote and Vivian Williams, guitarists Jere Canote and Peter
Langston, and bass player David Cahn.

We will add both teachers and accompanists as growth in sign-ups warrant
(follow staff updates on our website, see below).

Beginners: We also feature a series of classes and jam sessions specifically
designed for newcomers to the instrument, taught by our regular instructors and
by our beginners'
specialists -- Laura Smith (old time) and David Cahn (bluegrass).

Cheers,
Directors Ken Perlman & Peter Langston
