The best thing to use.... A soft peice of cloth (Not a shammy cloth.) like a babies blanket dampened w/ Just Plain Water. Start wiping from the inside clockwise out to the front. And then gently wipe with a clean dry peice of a babies blanket afterwards. I have worked for Tower Records as a Asst. Mgr. for three years and 5 different used record stores up to 1983. Even though we used Disc Washer sometimes, mostly we just did the above. I still play my 4000 + Record album collection today ( I only own 30 CD's.), and use the same process. No Alcohol, No soap. A soft peice of cloth dampened w/ Just Plain Water. My collection plays fantastic.
